Nephila Capital Ltd is one of the leading investment managers specializing in reinsurance risk. Following its purchase by Markel in 2018, Nephila required extra space to meet expansion plans and the strong, new branding.  The new office is over twice the size of the company’s previous office and is on the 4th floor of Walsingham House, recently subject to an intense, full-building refurbishment.  It was important to create an inclusive environment on day one of occupation.

Manage and Build

From a fit out perspective we had the rare luxury of having a long lead time which enabled us to work alongside Minifie Architects to work up an elegant and tasteful design which was in line with the clients brief and new brand guide lines. The challenges we faced on this build were that we were one of the first contractors to fit-out a floor in the building which entailed plenty of dialogue with the landlord’s team to ensure the protocols of this brand new space were adhered to. Good communication from the site team along with a very helpful landlord made this process all the more easier allowing pure focus on rapid delivery of the exceptional designs.

The New Space

The impressive reception initiates a logical flow through to the main office and a series of meeting rooms including a large boardroom with dedicated servery / breakout area. The focal point of the main office is the large staff breakout / informal working area, which connects the different departments in a way that encourages collaboration.  Interesting features include biophilic zones and a wudu and prayer room.
