2,600 sq ft, 5 weeks
The Legal Services Board (LSB) is sponsored by the Ministry of Justice and oversees the regulation of lawyers in England and Wales. They have taken the 3rd floor of a 1950’s Grade 2* listed building, The Rookery on Dyott Street, London WC1. JT3 was tasked with creating an efficient, inspiring environment that respected the aesthetic of the building whilst balancing the operational and brand requirements of LSB.
The project was managed in conjunction with Aidan Twomey and James Hunt of Farebrother. This was a fast track project – JT3 delivered 2,600 sq ft CAT B fitout in just 5 weeks. It was important to be sympathetic to the space whilst creating a functioning and inspiring work place. The particular challenges here included coordinating access for the external heating and cooling system whilst dealing with the added issues of secondary glazing due to the external crittal windows. Ensuring alignment of internal junctions with the external windows required some clever detailing to maintain the aesthetics whilst also creating a good level of acoustics between meeting rooms. There was a solid concrete floor which required some careful planning when positioning the floor boxes for power and data – there was no room for error!
