Light Industrial Unit, Waltham Abbey, Essex EN9 1JH
7,200 sqft, 8 weeks
When our existing client – Dataquest – asked us to undertake the refurbishment of an existing industrial unit in order to turn it into a disaster recovery centre, we were of course very happy to help. On the face of it, the works were relatively straight forward. However, time restrictions and budget constraints were at the top of the agenda so we were keen to ensure that our tried and tested process and loyal sub-contractor base were fully aware of this prior to the project commencing.
The extent of works included; updating the interior to supply an open plan office area on the first floor whilst creating a fully air conditioned workshop and break out area on the mezzanine floor. The first floor works included a strip out and the installation of a new ceiling, lighting, finishes all within newly glazed independently cooled cellular spaces. A large tea-point and a comms room were also client requirements that were part of the scope of works.
The smooth running of the fitout on this light-industrial unit enabled it to be completed on time and budget and although not our most design-led project, it was run to the same exacting standards and our client was delighted with the result.
