Kendall House, Burgess Hill, RH15
8,000 sqft, 4 weeks
Vega Controls Ltd asked JT3 to undertake works to reinstate a warehouse within their portfolio located in Burgess Hill. The building known as Kendal House consisted of 3 warehouse units and 1st floor offices where the space had recently been vacated by an occupier. We allowed a 4 week programme for the works.
There were various challenges with this building given its age and condition. Citing the main one being the discovery of asbestos which was found under the ground floor of the warehouse. This element was not in the original scope of works and given the process required to remove this harmful material, added to the tight timetable to complete the works. Sourcing the appropriate and qualified sub-contractors to deal with this issue within the timeframe was also highly demanding. Alongside this and coupled with the fact the existing screed underneath the floor was not suitable for the proposed Resin finish put the JT3 site team under extreme pressure.
The on-site team liaised very closely with the client’s project manager in coordinating the additional works within the timetable that had been initially allocated. As a result it left a very satisfied client.
